Abstract

This paper refers to the relationship between inflation on medical products and the covid-19 pandemic collapse. For this research we used the robust least squares model under the MM-estimator combing possible S and M estimators integrated as an autoregressive model. We deploy a set of six regressors (Money supply on its broad definition - M3, unemployment, Athens stock exchange market general indicator deviation, oil price, balance of payments and GNP growth) respectively in order to explain the effect on health products inflation on a monthly frequency for a 21 -year period (2000-21). Covid-19 pandemic is present through a chow point test where the breakpoint is on first taken measures for the country (March 2020). Results show that there was no significant difference between the two periods and the autoregressive factor over the dependent variable is significant for a four months period, M3, unemployment, oil and balance of payments seem to explain the rise of prices on medical products.
