Abstract

The present experiment revealed the possibilities of establishment of fish seed hatchery in Sri Ganganagardistrict. The single injection administration of totaldose of pituitary shows noresponse of breeders to breed. Whilein doubleinjection of pituitary shows good response when water circulation has been given. Without water circulation, even higher dose of pituitary did not exhibit expected results. In single injection of total dose of ovaprim, fishes responded and bred. However, the percentage offertilization was low with ovaprim. Though, the desert (Arid zone) climate of this region is not suitable for breeding of carps. The mixing of tubewell water or flow of canal water, high wind during evening and turbid water providing an environment where induce breeding is possible.
