Abstract
This chapter illustrated the peatlands environment and, it starts with a brief description of the
Peatlands Ecosystem and impact of the environmental factors and climate change on peatlands
ecosystem, focusing on the effects of variation in carbon dioxide, methane flux and nitrous oxide in
atmosphere composition. It highlights the need for minimizing the negative effects of climate change
on wetland ecosystem through proper management of peatlands.
