Abstract

For designing and evaluating performance of the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication systems, the accurate and realistic MIMO channel models are critically important. Mainly for the development and assessment of wideband wireless communication systems using MIMO technologies, channel models are required, which considers the temporal, spatial, and frequency correlation properties. Such a MIMO channel model, i.e. Elliptical channel model, has been studied in this paper. For this MIMO channel model, the effect of isotropic and non-isotropic scattering conditions is investigated in terms of the statistical properties; such as Time Autocorrelation Function (ACF) and the two-dimensional (2D) Space Cross-correlation Function (CCF) along with the channel model Capacity.
