Abstract

Lane departure is a type of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that has become increasingly popular in the automotive sector as technology advances. The field has seen much advancement, which have not only made life easier but also significantly reduced the risk of danger on the road. Negligence on the part of drivers often leads to road accidents, making it crucial to design an automatic system to detect and prevent such accidents. In this regard, road lane detection and tracking method, along with a warning alert system, has been proposed and implemented using MATLAB software. The system issues a warning message for every departure of the vehicle, effectively preventing collisions from occurring.
