Abstract

This study shows the promising use of nanofilms made of synthetic polyelectrolyte materials for effective adhesion and cultivation of animal and human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). The features of growth and cytotoxic effects of single-layer and multilayer synthetic films were revealed. It has been shown that the properties of the surface with which these cells are in direct contact during cultivation are of importance for MSCs. The best results of MSC cultivation are achieved on single-layer polyethyleneimine (PEI) films with immobilized growth factors under deprivation conditions, which may be of great importance for cell therapy.
