Prayer and Naturopathic Medicine in Ghana; A Qualitative Study

Background: In the life of a Ghanaian patient seeking healing, spirituality is essential.The majority of them wind up in prayer camps in search of God's face.Many Naturopathic practitioners in Ghana have begun to include prayer exercises in their sessions.Pastors make up the majority of these practitioners. we seek to investigatethe role of prayer in Naturopathic Profession, using Ghana as a case model.

Objectives: This study examines the qualitative component of prayer's usefulness as a kind of Naturopathic protocol used by naturopathic practitioners in their healthcare delivery.

Methods: This is a qualitative study that included a drafted open-ended questionnaire that was sent via WhatsApp to thirty (30) Naturopathic practitioners with pastoral backgrounds who are members of the Ghana Association of Naturopathic Physicians (GANP) in their various Naturopathic facilities that provide pastoral services.

Results: Patients seek the services of prayer from their centres as a complementary therapy, according to naturopathic practitioners, as part of their therapeutic order regimen.Others added that prayer is also used by patients as a conventional treatment for their medical ailments.

Conclusion: Effective prayer, we discovered, plays a critical role in the sick patient's healing process.Practitioners of Naturopathy frequently employ prayer as a complementary therapy rather than a standard treatment.
